life is but a movie...

Stood still in the middle of town
Where can I go to get out?
Hop on the next bus hoping to find ocean waves
Fluttering eyelids over passing sunspots

A beautiful newly she sat in front of me
Her legs up on the chair
Long burned hair trailing behind the seat
We both looked left to the woman on the street
She bent over to put out her cigarette
Ash out the light and put it in her jean pocket
I wondered if we watched her the same way
If we noticed together silently
The way strangers can become a we

Pulled off to get lost
A magic shop
Glass figurines
I remember a mini duck I had as a kid
Sat on a shelf and I loved to look
An old man hurriedly picked between push pens
$2 and $2.50 tacked to cardboard

Took a walk to the park
A boy dressed in a red button up and black vest
Began to walk in front of me with his ukulele
Signing about love
Accidentally going the same way
I followed our shared direction

Until I turned to the tree grove
Then a girl called out in hand with her lover,
"Beware, it's dark in there!"

I laughed and felt the cool
Took me back to times of pretend
Playing in fairy land

Walked for miles
Talked to the trees
Found a straw hat
Dancing outside of me
Life is but a movie

Whirlpool...

Aakash Nihalani
Ellen Rogers
via enjoy the silence
via all the mountains
Drawing light over swirling liquid
The sting of a cool dive
Deep dark diamond
Moving shadows forward

I walk into these waters
Each step adjusting temperature
Standing still numb
Goose bump tears
I wish for our time, my dear

In welcoming the plunge of past
I admit a pool of heart ache wishes
I will live my life as it's meant to be
I can only hope for the next journey

I sink in these dwelling waters
And wonder if I will fall drunk again
Holding breath at the thought
I still wish for our time, my dear

5 flowers, 5 stones...

via enjoy the silence
via moon to moon

For whatever dreams you spin
You may win
But in the end the magic was within
The building of your role
Giving into creative soul

Before you get too busy with a name
Keep time
For all you need
Is passion for making
And believing
Your life is weaving

This week
Pick 5 flowers
And find 5 stones
To look to touch to hold

I checked every flower
Perhaps one would be worthy of shelf space-
Pretty in a vase--
But caught in clay mud
Only broken bottles and crinkled wrappers

Winter's bone is bare
My skin has become fair
Throbbing see through veins
The looking caught my eye
The treasure was never the find

I sat on a stump
And wished upon two dandelions
For what I know will be
But I hoped to carry the joy of the journey

Companionship...

No matter our time
The look of our touch
The way we smile
Or how we talk

I have companionship
And you are all and none alike
I see you see me

Understood and understanding
Balance bridging together
Dancing like a floating feather

Let us drink wine
And talk our days
Pretending that matters matter

Sipping on life treats
Thankful we happen to meet
You hold me strong
For as much as I am a lone companion
This was meant to happen

So sing with me
Sit beside me
And share your mind silently
