why are you waiting?...

Been taking swinging steps
Music moving bones to wave
Lighter eyes
Lifted cheeks

Close my eyes to rethink
I fall asleep

Don't have to call me
I turned my phone off

I'm alright.

So lay your cards out
You keep coming back
Maybe it doesn't have to become

I used to write letters
Untold shares
Box filled with daily confessions

The times had changed

Take my photo
Live in this ghost
We need someone to make the bread
Daily rituals that keep you alive

Beat and pulse

cool warmth...

You don't see me
I don't know you
But in passing moments your arms tell me stories
Soothing tense breathe
Stroked hair subtle peace

Don't speak to me
I will wonder instead
Why I chose a passing moment with you-

Desirous nature of cold nights
I am immune to the idea of care
I lost what is is to give-

And yet something in you asks me to remember
It isn't for you
It may not be for me
But we fill each other

So aware of a past
Yours didn't last
Unknown family ties
The river runs until it dies
Jumping off sea cliffs
I am adrift
Swan dive into paradise

One day.
I think I might be ok.
I think I might want this.
I think I may try.
I think it's time to stop asking why.

Chasing ideas...

 Laying down
On repeat
Easy words of nice
Affirmations to believe
Training mind to think
Find something new to sink
In two--

Teeth been tasting bitter
Yellow stains rearrange
I'm wasting my young years
Gray hairs seen unstrange

Can't not
Can't not
Can't not

Finding home
Finding space
Finding ideas

To change this human race.
Maybe it's all gonna be a waste.

I. Can't. Not.
You never know what it's like to be fine
Maybe this is it

Water me...

Letting the feeling of feeling show outside
Rushing into moments made over swings
Lean back, hold tight, closed eyes
Leg patterns ask air to lift me higher
Blood filled hands throb
I promise I can grow tall

Tinkering chain links
Twirling fading flowers
Street hand dancing to speckled street light
Cans and the forgotten
There to witness me

I like this lingering that slowly lets out
Only pieces of a full dance
I thought I was scared to be
But I think it's the tension that fuels me

I am falling into place
Water me

Joni Mitchell...

via enjoy the silence
Joni has stories of love
Sips their sweet taste
Soaks up moments into melody
But she has a destiny

Had to choose her own way
For her great grandmother
Her grandmother
And all the women in her family
Who never had the chance
Generations past
Now she is the present cast

Duty to choose the restless
Desire to move toward the bitter edge
She sat in between
Only knowing the unseen

Take away the need for urgency
There is never certainty
Letting the timing find its path
No need to concern outside of this-
Everything is an offering not to miss

Magic asks for patience
It will find the perfect occasion
So let pain cry and smiles pray
Inspiration lives in everyday

Street talking...

Stood round the mandala made of chalk
Listened to all the souls that talk
A decade of poetry confession
Lifting myself out of every discretion
Eager to share my own self expression

Homeless, drunks, artists, old, and wise
Here there is no prize for disguise
Willing to wear my anger proud
Still need to remember to project sound loud
Fist pump and snap to somber melody
Medicine derived from brevity

Cab driver hearing my rhyme-
Would you like to go out sometime?
I'd like to hear you speak more poetry-
Perhaps over coffee or tea?
What else do you write?
Do you bring other subjects to light?

Unfortunately the men tend to inspire me
First fruit trees then faded debris
Romantic poems of despair
Whatever I decide feels unfair
I've got to get out and try something new
Life has got plenty color to chew
I see details where no one else looks
Time to take this vision to the books

Chalice cup...

The voice always stood silently beside
I liked to pretend it would hide
Letting fate twist against mind made matter
I kept looking outward toward all the clatter

Earring backs prick
Jealousy of vomit sick
Fuck it and quit
Remember to sit

Waver in the day as memories play
Wonder what I don't know
Have plenty I don't show

Reread old poetry
Found past stories within me
Feelings of walking stairs in moist tears
Now back and still filled with fears

Old habits begin to clear
Making the decision to steer
Can't give myself up
Stand and hold the chalice cup

3. Tangled toes pour water from the hose
3. Alerted to stop and try again
4. It's just choice
5. The balance of three
6. Different lives
7. Letting Earth sink soul sit to silently grow
8. The circles of force are harder to make high
9. Look at me looking away
10. Your amethyst hand shines inside
